TIs the season for much fun! We had a blast making this Ginger Bread House.
Elyzabeth's Sweet 16th Birthday has been a very special celebration. It has been an amazing 16 years of watching her grow up. We were very fortunate to be able to celebrate this big day with friends and family. Thank you so much to Lisa and Phil for visiting from New York, it truly made it all the more special.
We decided to do a Twilight themed party, since reading the books have been a passion for Elyzabeth. Not to mention some cute guys in the movies. The party all came together with red, white and black balloon, Bella's Bloody punch, Italian dinner and the wonderful birthday cake, that was a recreation from the New Moon movie. Much thanks goes to Aunt Lisa for making the Italian food, and much thanks also goes out to Nicki Huschka for helping me put together the cake. These two helped me put this party together and all went smoothly.
I do believe Elyzabeth had a great time celebrating with everyone and received some wonderful gifts.
You know you have read to much Dr. Seuss when your kids start asking for Green Eggs. So to keep my cool mom status, that is exactly what I served up. Green eggs for all!
This past Friday on Dec. 4th we got about 15 to 20 minutes of snow which Zach was so excited to see. He was disappointed about not being able to make a snowman so we brought the snow to him. We made paper snowflakes and hung them in his room. It was so much fun to see the designs we could come up with and after getting off to a rocky start. We had to jog our memories from kindergarten about how to make them and after a few tries we finally were able to make some cool designs.
We recently went to visit Santa. Zach has been so excited and couldn't wait to ask Santa for an Air Hockey Table. Wyatt wasn't sure about sitting with Santa. We had a lot of fun on this excursion and the kids excitement was contagious and we all are looking forward to christmas. This year as we start our traditions we are constantly counting our blessings. We have much to be grateful for.
Fall has been all bout spending time together as a family. Elyzabeth has been busy being a sophomore with activities like Orchestra and Homecoming, as well as spending time with her Dad playing WOW minis. Wyatt has had a lot more mommy time with Zach being in pre-school. I find him in the most unique places reading books to himself. We are very thankful to have a playscape in the backyard where the boys can be at home playing together. Halloween was especially fun this year with the boys being Darth Vader and Yoda. We have also been fighting seasonal allergies and I found out the boys can get a long when both don't feel well. I caught them both snuggled up in our recliner watching cartoons the day they didn't feel well.
We hope everyone is enjoying the holiday season and spending lots of time with their loved ones.
Well the day has finally come and it got here real quick. Zachary started his first day of pre-school and he was very excited this morning. The morning started off with waffles as the chosen first day of school breakfast. It took him a little while to start eating. I think he was a little nervous about today. While I was getting dressed he kept telling me that he was ready to go.
Once at school, he found his peg to hang his back pack and his bucket to put his lunch box in. He immediately told his teacher hi and picked a place at a table to start working on a puzzle. He then told me, "See you later, Mom!". With that, I gave him a hug and a kiss and left. We had a parent orientation meeting and during that meeting you could hear that some of the kids were experiencing separation anxiety. We are very fortunate that Zachary had already conquered this! Thank you so much to our church's nursery program.
Here are some pictures of Zachary ready for school. As you can tell he is still a Spider-man fan.
Last weekend Wyatt and I had the opportunity to go to Kansas to do a Pampered Chef Show. This also allowed us the chance to visit my sister and have some fun. It was a quick trip but lots of fun and many laughs. We attended the Wichita Wingnuts baseball game and as you can see Wyatt had a great time. He did really well for being up way past his bedtime.
I am very appreciative of my sister for always letting us stay there and putting up with the chaos of my kids. I love you Sis!
Our dear sweet Zachary is 4 years old. He chose to have a Nintendo Wii bowling party and was able to have some friends come to the party and bowl with him. Michael Summers received the "Fast Ball" award, Zachary got the "High Score" award, while Kennedy Huschka got the "Striker" award. Little Haley Pacheco got the award for "Best Form" and Henry Rawlinson was the "Splitster".
After bowling, it was on to pizza and then cake. Much thanks goes out to my best friend Nicki Hushcka, for spending all day Friday helping me make this colossal cake. We have gotten the baking bug and enjoy seeing what we can come up with for cakes.
We appreciate our friends and family for making this such a great day for Zachary and sharing it with us!
It's always fun and exciting when you watch your little one discover something new. Zachary has recently noticed his shadow and all the fun things that go with it. His sister, Elyzabeth helped him discover the fun of shadow puppets and in the video you can see what fun he had making animals with his shadow.
Read more...We recently ventured out as a family to get some photos in our wonderful Texas springtime scenery. Just had to post and share some of our favorites. And as always we got a few funny pictures too!
Oh, yes! Twilight fever has hit our home. I read the first book, just to see what all the fuss was about and immediately grabbed Elyzabeth and told her she had to read it. Needless to say we have read the books multiple times and even have one of the grandmas reading it. We had much fun going to the midnight DVD release party. Elyzabeth dressed for the occasion as you can see.
Wyatt, our youngest, had his 12 month checkup today. His pediatrician has a tradition of taking the kids photos with a cowboy hat to commemorate the occasion. He is very healthy and getting very tall. He is 31 inches tall, which is an inch taller than big brother Zachary at 1 year. It definitely makes us curious about who will be taller in the long run, Zach or Wyatt. This past year seems to be a whirl wind, and Wyatt has taken everything in stride. He is a very happy baby, who loves to gives hug. As a mom, I hope this characteristic never goes away. Walking came early for Wyatt at 10 months, and has been following Zachary ever since. Wyatt is very quiet accept when extremely frustrated, which doesn't happen very often and is quick to give a smile. His sweet spirit touches everyone and you can't help but kiss his cute cheeks!
Our St. Patrick's Day baby is One! We celebrated Wyatt's birthday on Sunday, March 15, 2009 with family. We couldn't decide on a theme for Wyatt so we did the St. Patrick theme, since this will probably be the only time he will let us get away with it. I decided to try my hand and cake decorating and went with a cupcake theme. Much thanks to my best friend, Nicki for helping me. Can not believe it took 6 hours to decorate everything, but I do make an awesome butter cream frosting.
We were also able to snap the elusive family photo. Not sure when the next one will be, it's hard getting everyone rounded up and cooperative for a family photo. I personally am dreading christmas cards this year. In lieu of gifts for Wyatt's birthday we asked for donations towards a backyard playscape and much thanks goes out to our families. You have made it happen. We are now in the process of getting it mapped out in the backyard and getting it prepared for our boys to have some fun out in the backyard.
Well it has only been maybe 2 weeks since Wyatt took his first steps and he is now trying to walk everywhere he goes. He is a very special boy who is always willing to give you a smile. He has been busy working on two more teeth on top and trying to keep up with Zachary. The video shows how quick he is to smile when he notices you watching him as well as how good he has become at walking. Our house has been invaded by baby gates because of his mobility and curiosity.
Elyzabeth is doing well in her first year of High School. She is a freshman fish and for her Fall Orchestra Concert had to dress up representing one of the elements. Elyzabeth and her best friend Lauren chose water and the freshman fish theme. Lauren has been visiting our house often and is becoming one of the family. Zachary loves to hang out with both Beth and Lauren. The outfits show Elyzabeth's creativity and just recently she was chosen to go compete in the Regional Art Contest for Georgetown High School. Only 25 students in all of Georgetown HS were selected. We are very pleased with Elyzabeth's accomplishment of being selected and excited to see how she does at the competition, which is on Feb. 14, 2009 in San Antonio. Stay tuned!
January 21, 2009. I am trying to play catchup on posting all the happenings with our family. Zachary is turning out to be very mischievous. I have to watch him very closely or my house ends up with Moonsand everywhere. Enjoy! I am learning to just roll with and document it, so I can show my future grandkids.
January 17th, 2009. Saturday is our family work day, which included cleaning the house and finish taking down some Christmas decorations. During this process we all as a family tag team looking after Wyatt. I think he thought we weren't paying enough attention to him because he stood up and started walking towards Daddy. We all stood there stunned. He has been standing for longer periods of time trying to get his balance. Today was Wyatt's big day! We are officially walking. He started with 5 big steps towards Daddy, which just made his day. He was thrilled to be such a big part of one of Wyatt's first. After the big moment, I ran and got my camera, to capture some of the first steps. I hope you all enjoy! Much love.
