Happy New Year

 Saturday, December 31, 2011

I know it has been awhile since I have posted and for that I apologize. Since the last post we took a vacation to Branson, Missouri, then school started and I don't have to tell you how busy that makes a mom.  My cake business has also picked up and in 2011 made 29 beautiful cakes for various occasions. It already looks like 2012 is going to be even busier.

All of us here in the Morris Family wish our friends and family much happiness and good health for the New Year.

Much love,

Scott, Betsy, Elyzabeth, Zachary and Wyatt

 Tuesday, May 10, 2011

Happy Birthday Baxter! We transported his birthday cake in a refrigerator that could be plugged in the car. 493 miles later we got it there safely and I think the birthday boy loved his cake. Here are the highlights from his party.

Mother's Day weekend in Kansas Day 2

Zach and Wyatt loves their cousin Jasmine! She took them under her wing and showed them all the stuff they could do outside. The played basketball, rode scooters, played kickball and play in the sand pit. My boys couldn't get enough of her.

Mother's Day Weekend in Kansas Day 1

The day after we got to Kansas, we had the opportunity to attend my neice's city wide track meet. She participated in the accuracy throw, 3 legged race and some relays. She did awesome and we are so proud of her. The boys had fun running around and playing and the one picture of them here show some mischief.

Easter 2011!

The easter bunny did not miss our house! Zach was up early and just couldn't wait to search the house. He went and woke up Elyzabeth and Wyatt just so he could start the egg hunt. Wyatt was content to let Zach do all the work then just open eggs and eat the candy. Smart boy, that one is.

Cakes and more cakes

 Saturday, April 23, 2011

The past 2 weeks I have been busy with cakes and the next few weeks will be the same. I did a camping cake for a guy turning 40 and this week was a spiderman cake for a little boy turning 5. The next few weeks will be filled with a wedding cake, sweet 16 cake and a little girl's first birthday.

I am enjoying this creative outlet and love learning new techniques. My family love the cake scraps and leftover frosting.

Message to Mom

 Wednesday, April 20, 2011

Today Zachary stayed home sick with a fever. The fever has been keeping him contained to the couch. We have been trying to keep the fever down with meds and cool baths. Needless to say he will be seeing the doctor tomorrow.

So Zachary wanted to make sure I knew he didn't feel well today. He brought this message to me today while I was sketching some cake quotes.

It reads: Mom, I don't like being sick.

Super Why!

We found a new show for Wyatt to watch. I think we we're all getting tired of "Max and Ruby". Scott gets credit for finding this show. The show is called Super Why and the main character is a boy named Wyatt. Wyatt and his friends read books to get answers to their problems. It is on PBS and thank goodness they have games on their website for Super Why.

Here is a photo of Wyatt chilling in Daddy's chair watching the show. He dances and mimics everything they do, even reciting the alphabet.

2011 Georgetown Red Poppy Festival

 Sunday, April 17, 2011

It's that time of year again. We love this time of year, with the bluebonnets and red poppies in bloom. Our lovely town of Georgetown celebrates this precious, delicate red flowers. The weekend starts off with a parade, then there is lots of musicians, food and street vendors to take in. We had a blast this year and the kids loved the parade. Our neighbors went with us and this year Holden got to sit up and watch everything.

Priest Laurel Prom

 Saturday, April 9, 2011

Elyzabeth had the opportunity to attend the Priest/Laurel Prom that the church puts on for the older kids. I wish this was started when I was in High School. It provides a great time plus an extra event to where your formal attire to. Elyzabeth was excited and we are fortunate to have several hair dressers in our church ward. They volunteered to do the girls hair and makeup. The girls looked absolutely beautiful.

Georgetown Market Days

Georgetown every month has a market days where local vendors can setup on the square. Today they had an Easter egg hunt for the kids. We had a blast! Wyatt got into the spirit and filled his basket up with eggs. The kids also had fun in the bouncy house and on the train. We love living in Georgetown, where there are so many activities we can take the kids and enjoy being together as a family. Elyzabeth also got some really cool feathers in her hair. Stay tuned she as the Priest/Laurel Prom this evening!

1 Fish, 2 Fish....a whole lotta fish!

 Wednesday, April 6, 2011

Last night while Scott and I were bathing filthy little boys, Elyzabeth was cleaning the dinner dishes. While cleaning dishes she somehow noticed some tiny fish swimming around the bottom of the fish tank. She immediately came to get me and the search was on for how many fish. We also noticed the big black and white fish isn't so fat now, this would be Zach's fished that he named Luigi. Hmmmm might need to rethink the name now. Here is a picture of a few of the little guys. Baby fish count is now up to 8. We now have a total of 13 fish. Wow!

Wyatt's 1st day of LEAP program

 Tuesday, March 22, 2011

Since Wyatt has turned 3, he has now transitioned from the county speech therapy program to the school system. He is attending a Language, Expression, articulation, phonetic program. He has accomplished a lot in the past 10 months of speech therapy. He is very engaged with the family, and can verbally tell us what he wants or feels. He is now calling everyone by their names and is such a happy boy. Gone is the frustration of not having us understand what he is saying. Now having said that, we his parents can understand 95% of what he says, but to others it's still toddler talk that is hard to understand. This is a huge improvement over when he was only talking in vowels and would throw a tantrum because we couldn't understand him.

A huge thanks goes out to a wonderful and talented lady named Katherine. She has been Wyatt's speech therapist for the past 10 months and has gotten Wyatt to come out of his shell. Katherine has helped our family life tremendously by helping us understand Wyatt and his speech. When Wyatt first started with Katherine we learned that he was talking but it was all in vowels. Which is very hard to grasp. It is such a sweet sound when Wyatt calls me "Mama" now and does not have to be prompted or asked to call me that. He is so happy now and is so verbal now. Thanks Katherine!
